i see you, now you see me! Hi there - I'm Jenny.  Just a couple things about me...

  • I have an unhealthy, but happy relationship with caffeine and ice cream.
  • I am a total insomniac and I get a ton of work done at 3 a.m.
  • I have the coolest 4 year-old on the planet.
  • Your photos are not about me or my 'art'.  I believe my job is to show your awesomeness.
  • There isn't one aspect of my job that I don't like.  I even feel weird calling it a 'job' sometimes.

I think it's important that you not only like your photographer's work, but that you actually like your photographer.

During my super fun engagement session today with Cyndi & Nick, we started talking about cameras, photography techniques and post-processing, etc...  On the way home, I started thinking about post-processing styles and how I love to see 'before & after' photos.  I loved the way Cyndi's eyes smoldered here, but thought I'd add a little 'pop' to them and then just smooth out her skin a tad.  I then added some overall warmth to the photo (you'd never know just how flippin' cold they were!)  Just thought I'd share a little about how I approach photos after the session and to give this super sweet couple a sneak peek from today!

I am so flippin' excited about Emmalee & Robert's wedding next month!  They are so incredibly sweet with each other and so genuinely easy to be around.  Plus, they are great friends with Janney & Rick - one of my '09 couples (loved them!!)  These Husky fans met me at the UW - we played around the blossom trees and Suzzallo and then hopped down to the bronze husky dog for some shots in their jerseys.  We then trekked to Golden Gardens - the sun had vanished by then, but the beach is always a pretty place for photos.  Can't wait for their big day - we are going to have super big fun!

It's a great story...a friend of mine tells me that there is a couple on Craigslist that is seeking a wedding photographer that will not only give them awesome photos, but one that will honor and respect their wedding being 'same-sex'.  My first thought was 'duh - who wouldn't?!' and proceeded to write them a quick note in hopes that they would consider me.  The next day, I get an email from Stacey saying that other people had emailed them telling them to contact me (how cool is that?!)  So after some phone conversations and a wonderful evening of cupcakes and coffee, I was totally stoked to hear that this sweet couple want me to capture their upcoming nuptials.

I am so lucky to have met these women.  The way Stacey and Heather look at each other...how playful that they are with each other...it really is beautiful.  I'm a lucky girl to meet them and a luckier girl to participate in their wedding.

They definitely look like a really fun couple! My fave is the bench/puddle reflection one :) So cool!

You did an amazing job capturing their character. Stacey is the somewhat reserved quiet one with almost a shyness about her. Heather is the more laugh out loud silly one. You captured them both perfectly. I can also see a spark of the Stacey that I know to be a little silly as well and I love that. My favorite picture is the kissing picture at Royal Cupcake. They're such coffee people, with a lovable sense, and love the sweets that are just as sweet as they are. Well Done!!!!
