  • I am a total insomniac and I get a ton of work done at 3 a.m.
  • I have the coolest 3 1/2 year-old on the planet.
  • One of my dogs sucks her thumb.
  • Your photos are not about me or my 'art'.  I believe my job is to show your awesomeness.
  • There isn't one aspect of my job that I don't like.  I even feel weird calling it a 'job' sometimes.

I think it's important that you not only like your photographer's work, but that you actually like your photographer.

Burke Museum Wedding ~ Seattle ~ Patty & Dan

Patty & Dan's intimate wedding at the Burke Museum a few weeks ago was a wonderful experience for all.  They decided to have their first glimpse of each other be when Patti's father walked her down the aisle.  One of Dan's dearest friends officiated and only Dan's best friend stood beside them.  The ceremony was sweet, the dinner following was yummy and there was cake AND pie for all.  Even the bar was stocked with a special liqueur from South America that Patti's family brought with them - it was wonderful (Dan's dad snuck me a quick sip of his)!  The Burke Museum is a pretty cool setting for a small wedding and having the whole University of Washington campus to take photos on (we snuck out for just a few shots...) is the best.  Thank you to Patti & Dan for having me as a part of their day - it was great.

Blue Ribbon Cooking & Culinary Center ~ Wedding ~ Seattle ~ Oani & Dean

Oani & Dean's wedding at Blue Ribbon Culinary Center had drama, action and some sweet comedy.  The touch of theater throughout...movie poster with the wedding party cast...playbills for their programs...Shakespearian plays with bookmarks...  Our blustery but sunny Sunday afternoon was absolutely wonderful.  I love that they did a shot with their officiant before getting down to business and I have to say that the food at Blue Ribbon is just about the best that I have EVER had at a wedding.  Oani & Dean's friends and family are a total hoot and they even made their escape in a boat after running through rose petals.  Such a super day - thank you so much Oani & Dean for making me a part of it!

Kitsap Conference Center ~ Wedding ~ Bremerton ~ Lisa & David

Lisa has the most awesome laugh and her face literally beams with light when she talks about Dave.  It's totally tangential, but the shoes Lisa wore for their engagement session in Ballard were a huge hit with the grrlz.  Anyway, back to the wedding day!  We started out at the Hampton Inn in Bremerton by the marina - Lisa's suite looked right over where she and Dave had their first look so her mom (totally awesome lady by the way) and the other ladies could watch from above.  We had such a clear sky and beautiful day - after their reveal, we walked the marina where Lisa's family has a brick along the walkway - there are also some very cool fountains and water features in front of the Kitsap Conference Center.  Another tangent...no blasphemy intended, but how much does the photo of the wedding party's table look like the painting "The Last Supper"?  The ceremony was lovely, but I think my favorite moment was when Dave gave a quick speech after dinner.  He talked about how much he loves Lisa and how she is his best friend.  I don't well up often, but he got me on that one.  There were lots of tears during the dances and twice as many smiles.  It was a great day and I love that I got to meet this couple.  They are true gems.

We took our first glance at the photos as soon as we saw them this morning! BEAUTIFUL. WONDERFUL. BRILLIANT. Love so many I don't think I can pick a favorite!? Lisa cried again seeing the photo of Dave watching her walk up the aisle...we love the "Last Supper" photo...and the veil being caught in the wind... Thanks so much Jen!!
