i see you, now you see me! Hi there - I'm Jenny.  Just a couple things about me...

  • I have an unhealthy, but happy relationship with caffeine and ice cream.
  • I am a total insomniac and I get a ton of work done at 3 a.m.
  • I have the coolest 3 1/2 year-old on the planet.
  • One of my dogs sucks her thumb.
  • Your photos are not about me or my 'art'.  I believe my job is to show your awesomeness.
  • There isn't one aspect of my job that I don't like.  I even feel weird calling it a 'job' sometimes.

I think it's important that you not only like your photographer's work, but that you actually like your photographer.

Within just a few minutes of talking on the phone to Jenny, I knew that she and I could be fast friends...after meeting her and Nickolai, I became their newest and quite possibly their biggest fan.  We met at Gasworks Park and played there for a good chunk of time - they brought a pitch fork and Mighty O donuts - need I say more??

We then headed down to Pike Place market (by way of the Troll) to get flowers for their ceremony.  Yep, Jenny and Nickolai got married that same afternoon at the courthouse in Redmond.  Nickolai's family couldn't make it, but Jenny's parents and brother were there for their sweet and short ceremony on the lawn.  Jenny is a classmate of Gene (of the super cool Gene & Jessica) and is starting her residency in a land far away so they decided to make things official before they moved.  You'll see them again next year however - they will be having the 'big shindig' next year with all of their friends and family back here in Seattle.  I had such a great time with these guys and cannot wait to hang out with them again.

They look like a lot of fun! I like the one on the seawall with the way her dress hangs down...
and I think I really like the idea of having a small private ceremony and then a big party later :)

these photos are amazing! i love the couple's dynamic energy and playfulness. i also love the different washes--from an ethereal feel (at the ceremony) to an appropriately fitting antique stain (american gothic/pitchfork). what a fun couple.

Linnaea and Joey's day was so full of friends, kids, family and memories.  We started the day out at a gorgeous house overlooking the sound - all of the women in her life were there and her niece and nephew were just plain cuteness.  Joey sent Linnaea an email that morning joking about needing more pairs of socks (for his cold feet - tee hee).  After Linnaea got her gorgeous dress on, we all headed over to the yacht club for Joey's first look at his bride.

The hall was decorated with so many sweet touches and next to their wedding cake was a traditional Norwegian wedding cake - yum!  Linnaea's father recently passed away - he was close in heart though - a St. Francis statue sat under their wedding arch and both of her older brothers walked her down the aisle.  The ceremony was both emotional and funny - Joey made a grand entrance on a boat (the awesome Jen got that shot for me - thanks Ms. Wade!)  Although the skies were dark and gray, the rain stayed away and the crowd applauded with joy during their kiss.  After the ceremony, the couple and I headed up to a lookout point for some portraits before heading back to the party...

The party was already underway when we returned - the toasts were so heartfelt (her brother's speech choked me up big time) and the meal was so good.  Linnaea's godfather danced with her and both of her big brothers cut in (so sweet!)  It didn't take long however to get the fast dancing underway and then look out!  Linnaea was tearing up the dance floor and I think close to everyone made their way out there throughout the night.  What a wonderful way to start their new family together - thanks Joey and Linnaea for having me be a part of your beautiful day!

Jamie and Chris are the best.  From doing their engagement session in the rain to their Vegas themed reception, this couple brings the big fun!  We met up with Jamie and her girls at Calvary Lutheran Church where they all got dressed.  After Chris and the guys arrived, we had a quick and sweet reveal before taking their family portraits...

The ceremony was really sweet - poor Chris was feeling a little under the weather and the heat of the day wasn't making it any easier on him.  I just loved the coral pink color of the dresses and flowers - it really made some of the more neutral colors of the church pop.  They had their receiving line there in the church and then everyone headed over for the reception...

except the couple and I.  We headed over to their favorite pub for a couple of shots and a quick goof with one of the pool tables.  We also stopped by a lookout park for a few additional portraits before heading over to Floral Hall for the big party.  The couple was greeted with a softball bat threshold by all of their softball buddies (that's how they met!)  The food, drink and dancing got right underway...

The super cool Jen Wade helped me out (she rocks!).  The couple headed out in style with a surfer moon from the bride - I hope your Vegas honeymoon was awesome Jamie and Chris...just like you!

One of the things I think is most important in photography is to make your audience see the beauty in someone that their loved ones see. I think you do an incredible job of capturing that - the spirit, the smile, the perfect moment. Another lovely bride, and another set of wonderful shots!
