i see you, now you see me! Hi there - I'm Jenny.  Just a couple things about me...

  • I have an unhealthy, but happy relationship with caffeine and ice cream.
  • I am a total insomniac and I get a ton of work done at 3 a.m.
  • I have the coolest 4 year-old on the planet.
  • Your photos are not about me or my 'art'.  I believe my job is to show your awesomeness.

I think it's important that you not only like your photographer's work, but that you actually like your photographer.

The sweetness and softness that Mike & Yuka share with each other is so amazing...and their friends and family are just SO much fun!

my*a.jpgThey had their first look near the entrance to the garden...Yuka's beautiful gown was handmade by Mike's sister Kristie...Yuka's tears were so touching and I loved her look of surprise when Mike showed her that Kristie had made a pocket square from the material of her gown...

The boutonnieres were made by Mike's dad - they were fishing lures!

Their ceremony was officiated by super wonderful Annemarie Juhlian - she beams with such genuine joy for her couples...I am always so stoked to work with her!  Mike's uncle played the bagpipes to begin their processional - how cool is that?!  Yuka's parents came from Japan for the wedding and her father walked her down in a traditional Japanese outfit...loved it!!

After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Ray's Boathouse in Ballard.  They had beautiful paper cranes that Yuka's father made and the neatest traditional desert called Mochi.  It was a performance that everyone could participate in.  It is a Japanese rice cake made by pounding rice into a paste and then molding it into a small ball.  It was flying everywhere and so much fun to watch.  Check out the guy in the middle during the gif file - the event was so exciting!

A friend of Mike's has a great jazz quartet (info coming soon) - they were such a nice touch for the reception.  A totally excellent night was had by all!

I cannot stop visiting this page, Jenny. This blog is fantastic. Great selection, capturing the stories of our event well. The day was so fun and filled with smiles and laughters. Just looking at the photos cheers me up. We were so happy that you were the photographer at our wedding. I am very curious how you put the big smiles on my parents' faces! I have never seen them enjoying themselves so much! Thanks again!!!
