i see you, now you see me! Hi there - I'm Jenny.  Just a couple things about me...

  • I have an unhealthy, but happy relationship with caffeine and ice cream.
  • I am a total insomniac and I get a ton of work done at 3 a.m.
  • I have the coolest 4 year-old on the planet.
  • Your photos are not about me or my 'art'.  I believe my job is to show your awesomeness.
  • There isn't one aspect of my job that I don't like.  I even feel weird calling it a 'job' sometimes.

I think it's important that you not only like your photographer's work, but that you actually like your photographer.

MaryLee & Derek's wedding day was one of our most beautiful days this month...not too hot with a lovely breeze all day long.  We started our day at a cute condo that they rented on the west side of the lake - all of the girls were ready to roll - one of MaryLee's brothers was rockin' the super 8.  As soon as her parents arrived, mom got her zipped up, dad got a 'first look' and we were all out the door...

The bridal party met up at Gasworks Park for some fun portraits before the rest of the family came for their turn.  Can I just tell you how sweet Derek is?  I love witnessing the sweet looks and obvious crazy love he has for MaryLee.  Speaking of crazy, check out the "serious photo" that ML and her brothers wanted.  After photos, we all headed over to the Skansonia for last minute touches before the ceremony.  Bobbi Roth served as their coordinator for the day - it was my first time working with her and she totally rocked it.  I love the little touches they had and cannot tell you how much I love all the twinkle light strewn around the boat.

Their ceremony was sweet - the minister has known Derek for a long time and was good at pokin' the right spots...there were sweet readings and they even had a sea plane cruise over head.  Derek rocked that kiss by actually dipping his bride - totally surprised everyone!

The reception was totally fun - in addition to the traditional activities, there was baklava made from truly ancient honey, a coffee bar (awesome!), a serenade from a dear friend and a song played by her twin brothers that I believe was so cool that it totally went over my geeky little head.  Derek had a classic car waiting for their getaway so we got to go play a little out by it during the party.  What a super fun day - thank you SO much ML & D for letting me be a part of it!

These are beautiful pictures. I think MaryLee is the prettiest bride I have ever seen and one of the luckiest to get a great guy like Derek. They make a very handsome couple and the pictures show how special they are together.
