I was so excited when Kari contacted me about shooting her and Brett's wedding - she had met me at Emilyawesomesauce & Kyle's wedding this past May. I LOVE referrals - I felt an instant connection with her during our phone conversation and after getting together for their engagement photos last weekend, I knew we are a great fit! We laughed a lot - cupcake smashing, lots of rain, stinky Seattle alleys, a hairspray can getting jammed and completely emptying in the car - all the while totally having a great time together. Can not wait 'till their big day - here a just a few of my faves...

It just so happens that Kari & Brett's colors for their wedding will be brown & pink...so one of the things we did during their engagement session last weekend was play with some Cupcake Royale 'baby cakes'! It was so funny (and from what Kari said, very unusual for Brett) when he smashed her in the nose with one. How cute are they?!? More from the rest of their session tomorrow...

I am frequently taking pause to think on the things in this life that make me the most grateful...my family, my friends, my pups, having a warm home, a reliable car, a job that i once only dreamed of...
When I woke this morning, my baby girl had crawled in next to me. My computer was on the nightstand (I am also thankful for the 'photo booth' program on my mac).
This little warm being is the best thing ever - just looking at her makes my heart feel like it might just burst.
